Volusia County has rich cultural traditions. Our county has been home to famous artists like Doris Leeper, Bob Ross, Eliza Midgett, Steve Hardock, Jimmy Lane, and Jack Mitchell.
Volusia proudly supported the arts for decades — until last year, when my opponent canceled all public arts funding. That hurt our quality of life and our pocketbooks: arts tourism brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars each year.
I will work to restore arts funding and keep our strong artistic traditions alive.
